Ring Sizing

Most of my rings can be resized or are already made in a range of sizes. If you have a specific piece in mind, please get in touch by email or through theonline chat.I will need to know which finger you would like to wear it on so I canadvise whether a design can be adjusted or made to your size.

Measuring for a Ring

Visit a jeweller

  • The most accurate way to find your size is to visit me in person or another local jeweller for a professional fitting. Remember to measure the exact finger you plan to wear the ring on — every finger (and each hand) can be slightly different.

At-home measuring kit

  • If you can’t visit a jeweller, I can send you a free ring sizer to use at home. These are a good guide but can occasionally be half a size out compared to a professional measurement.

Using an existing ring

  • If you already have a ring that fits well, you can bring it in or post it to me and I’ll measure it for you. Please make sure it’s for the same finger that your new ring will be worn on. You can also place it on top of a ruler and provide me with the internal diameter of the band. Be careful that you measure the diameter a the centre point of the circle, and that you only measure the space inside the ring, not the ring band itself.

Things That Affect Ring Size

  • Fit – Your ring should feel snug but not tight; loose enough to slide over your knuckle, but not so loose that it might slip off.
  • Temperature and time of day – Fingers change size with temperature and during the day. They are smaller in the morning or when cold, and largest later in the day when warm.
  • Design and width – Wider bands or settings that sit close to the finger often need to be made slightly larger than slim bands.
  • Avoid paper or string – These can stretch or twist and give an inaccurate reading. Always use a proper ring sizer or have your finger measured professionally.

Most women’s ring sizes are between M and O, with N being the most common.

Most men’s ring sizes are between R and U, with T being the most common.

Buying a Ring as a Gift

If you’re buying a ring as a surprise, you could borrow one that fits the correct finger and take it to a jeweller to be measured. Or, ask a close friend or family member if they know the recipient’s size.

How to Measure Necklace Length

There are two easy ways to measure your ideal necklace length:

1. Measure a necklace you already own

Place your open necklace flat on a table and measure from the outer edge of the clasp to the opposite end using a ruler in centimetres or inches.

2. Measure directly on your body

Stand in front of a mirror and wrap a soft tape measure, string, or ribbon around your neck. Bring the ends together where you’d like the necklace to sit, then measure the length of the string or ribbon with a ruler.

If you’re planning to wear a pendant, remember to allow for the extra drop that it will add.

Typical Necklace Lengths

  • The average necklace length for women is between 40–45 cm (16–18 inches).

Most of my necklaces are adjustable by around 1 inch (2–3 cm), so a 16-inch chain will often extend to 18 inches.

Please see the illustrations at the bottom of this page for reference.

Bangle Sizing

All of my bangles are made to a standard 21.5 cm circumference, which fits most wrists comfortably.

If you need a different size, bangles can be made to order — please get in touch to arrange this.

How to measure for a Bangle

Using an existing bangle

  • Lay your bangle flat on a table.
  • Measure straight across the centre from one inner edge to the other using a ruler.
  • This gives you the internal diameter - your correct size in mm, cm, or inches.

To convert diameter to circumference, multiply the diameter by 3.14 (C = 3.14 × D), or use an online converter.
