About Me

I’ve been creating contemporary jewellery by hand since 2004, after completing my degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing at Loughborough University. I work primarily with silver and gold wire — hammering, texturing and reconstructing it through precise cutting and soldering. Over the past twenty years, I’ve become fascinated by how this fluid material can express movement, rhythm and light — a natural language for exploring my enduring obsession with water.

"My work is inspired by the shifting light and landscapes of North Wales — the textures, the tides, the stories held in stone and metal."

Inspiration and Influences

My designs are shaped by time spent rowing the tidal waters of North Wales and the Venetian lagoons. The play of light, shifting currents and calm reflections of these landscapes flow through my work — jewellery that feels vibrant yet refined, sculptural yet deeply personal.

Materials and Process

Each piece is handmade in my North Wales studio using 100% recycled or responsibly mined silver and gold. I carefully select gemstones for their quality and character, sourcing only from trusted, traceable suppliers.

Since 2025, I’ve been alloying my own gold and moving toward using only SMO (Small Mine Origin) gold, ensuring complete transparency and traceability.

Many clients choose to incorporate heirloom materials, creating bespoke designs that carry their stories forward in a new form.

Gemstones

Some designs are adorned with a colourful palette of gemstones, chosen for their character and quality. All stones are responsibly sourced — either reclaimed and given new life, purchased directly from a small artisan mine, or from a trusted family company in Hatton Garden with whom I’ve built long-term relationships.

Responsible, traceable suppliers

  • White diamonds come from a long standing family supplier and can be provided with full certification.
  • Coloured diamonds are sourced through a specialist dealer who reimagines existing stones — altering colour through irradiation or re-cutting, ensuring they remain within the circular market.
  • All sourced diamonds fully comply with the Kimberley Process.
  • I am also a registered stockist of Ocean Diamonds, sourced sustainably from the seabed off the coast of South Africa and offering 100% traceability from ocean to workshop.

Notable Commissions

In 2019, I was honoured to design and create the National Eisteddfod Crown of Wales, crafted in silver and local prehistoric copper. This commission marked a creative milestone and led to bespoke projects with clients around the world seeking distinctive, meaningful design.

Studio and Collaboration

I work from Siop iard in the historic town of Caernarfon — a shared gallery and studio that I co-founded with fellow jewellery designers. It’s a vibrant creative hub where we make, teach and collaborate, supporting the next generation of makers through courses, mentoring and professional training.

Creative Direction and Future Work

My creative path is guided by exploration — of both landscape and technique. Rowing through Europe’s waterways continues to inspire collections that capture the essence of water through light, motion and form. I’m constantly evolving my craft, developing new approaches to metal and colour while remaining rooted in handcrafting traditions.

Exhibitions and Recognition

I exhibit my work regularly at major contemporary jewellery events such as Goldsmiths North and the Desire Fair at Waterperry, where I continue to connect with collectors, clients and galleries who share my passion for thoughtful design and craftsmanship.

I am a professional member of both the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and the Association for Contemporary Jewellery (ACJ), organisations that represent excellence, integrity and innovation within the jewellery industry.

"Jewellery should hold meaning — connecting people, place, and memory through the language of craft."
