Bespoke Jewellery
Transforming your Treasured Heirlooms into Contemporary Pieces
I understand the deep emotional connection we have with family jewellery—pieces that carry memories, stories, and generations of love. Through my bespoke redesign service, I transform your cherished heirlooms and broken treasures into beautiful, wearable works of art that honour their history whilst creating something entirely new and uniquely yours.
Working from my North Wales studio, I carefully deconstruct inherited pieces, preserving their precious metals and gemstones, then meticulously handcraft them into contemporary designs that reflect your personal style.
Whether it's your grandmother's engagement ring or stones from pieces you've simply outgrown, I bring decades of expertise and traditional goldsmithing techniques to create luxury jewellery that bridges past and present.
How does it work?
Each bespoke commission begins with a consultation where we explore your vision, examine your existing pieces, and design something extraordinary together—a one-of a-kind treasure crafted with the same love and care as the originals, ready to be worn and cherished for generations to come.
This is an entirely custom-made piece of jewellery and a premium service, made as new or using your own heirloom pieces as a redesign. Choose from an array of stones, shapes and sizes and discuss your design in detail during a personal consultation.
Precious pieces are created with a high degree of integrity, sensitivity and intuition for each commission, very much a luxury experience with you at the heart of the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I have my heirloom jewellery re-designed?
Usually the jewellery in question has a sentimental value or a family connection, this doesn't necessarily mean you like it or want to wear it but by having it re-designed it won't sit in a box unused for years.
Plain jewellery can be personalized by adding stones and textures, making the piece 'you'. For example, we have personalised items such as plain gold bands with scatterings of tiny diamonds to make a contemporary wedding ring.
Your re-designed piece will be completely unique to you. You are able to be involved in having a piece of jewellery custom made to fit and suit you.
What sort of pieces can be re-designed?
Most pieces of jewellery can be re-designed as long as they are a precious metal such as Silver or Gold that Angela is able to work with.
Gemstones can be removed and re-used as desired. If it is just the gemstones you like these can be removed and added to a brand new piece of jewellery.
Angela can offer advice on the type of metal and gemstones at your design appointment.
Does my jewellery have to be melted down?
Angela's preference is to modify rather than melt to keep as much of the original jewellery intact as possible, this doesn't mean it will look the same. This is much more cost effective and allows the original character of the jewellery to be retained. However, sometimes it is necessary to melt down the item(s) you would like re-designed. For instance if you have several pieces of jewellery that do not match up we may need to melt them down to make one whole piece.
What happens during an appointment?
We will need to look at the pieces you have, so please bring them with you. You will be asked what you would ideally like to create so having an idea of what you like is helpful. this could be colours, metals, shapes or other inspirations. (Advice on how feasible this is based on the existing jewellery for a redesign is given at the appointment).
Angela will also offer design suggestions. This will usually involve making some quick sketches of ideas, looking at some real life examples, and if required looking at gemstones to add to the piece.
A full quotation is provided after the appointment and there is never any obligation to undertake the work.
An appointment usually lasts around 40 minutes.
How much does it cost?
Each re-design/ commission is different and the cost is based on the complexity of the design involved as well as the materials and labour.
The first appointment to discuss your re design/ commission is free of charge and there is no obligation to proceed with the work if you are not happy.
A full price is provided after your appointment, Angela does not give estimates.
Terms of payment are a 50% deposit on order with the balance on completion.
